The Compassionate Heart of Rotary: Fellowship, Care, and Community Service

Long recognized as the compassionate heart of the Rotary movement, the Rotary Anns in District 9400 represent a dedicated legacy of service, community connection, and hands-on care. Originally founded as dynamic clubs for the spouses of Rotarians, the Anns have evolved into vital, welcoming spaces for women, including those who are retired, single, widowed, or looking to give back to find deep friendship, purpose, and a direct channel for community impact.

Working alongside Rotary Clubs across Southern Africa (covering northern South Africa, Mozambique, Eswatini, and Botswana), the Anns bring unmatched heart, practical execution, and warmth to District 9400.

2026–2027 Vision & Strategic Priorities

Under the leadership of District Governor’s Ann Sylvia Knoop, the vision for this year focuses on expanding and revitalizing Rotary Anns Clubs across our regions. We are fostering inclusive spaces where women can belong to something bigger than themselves, enriching both their own lives and the communities they serve.

  • Signature Focus – Supporting the Differently Abled: Dedicated initiatives aimed at offering resources, care, and practical support for people living with disabilities.

  • Eldercare & Senior Comfort: Supporting local care homes with essential supplies, toiletries, warm goods, and companionship projects.

  • Maternal & Child Welfare: Assembling comfort packs, baby layettes, and supporting local clinics, trauma centers, and shelters.

  • Resource Distribution Networks: Mobilizing community donations, corporate partnerships, and direct relief supply lines to get help exactly where it is needed most.
